Blane Stacy of OK Conservation Commission

Semiprofessional rangeland ecologist and amateur grazier! from FFA range judging in HS to a BS in Rangeland Ecology from Ok State University, grass & grazing animals have been at the forefront of my focus for many years.

The traditional method of grazing management (set stock grazing) was how i learned to manage cattle, but through a roundabout career path that included Soil Conservation, Tribal Environmental monitoring, Cowboying, and Water quality monitoring... I ended up at the OK Conservation's Soil Health program!

In a "Saul on the way to Damascus" moment, I was shown a method of livestock, grazing land, and ecological management through Soil Health that combined profitability, environmental improvement, and restoring ecological function of grazing lands! I became a preacher of soil health.

In October of 2022 I was able to start my own grazing operation with 10 PCC cow calf pairs, a few mix-n-match cows, and now manage 25 pairs on 140 acres near New Alluwe OK
