Nick jackson and Sarah Mahan are first generation ranchers making choices to move their family towards a more desirable future. Nick and Sarah both worked for the Vermont Compost company before starting their own direct to consumer grass finished lamb, beef and pasture produced egg operation. Eventually they felt the pull to practice the skills they had learned in the humid northeast and try applying them in more brittle lands causing them to move to western Kansas where Nick has become the production foreman for the the Kansas unit of Regen LLC managing multiple bands of custom grazed sheep and cattle, while Sarah is managing the homestead and focusing on home schooling their children.
